Lisk Builder Challenge - Round 2

Igniting South East Asia!

Let's Build! Your Opportunity Awaits

Lisk and BlockDevId are thrilled to bring you the Lisk Builders Challenge! This is your chance to turn your innovative blockchain ideas into reality. Whether you're a seasoned developer or just starting your blockchain journey, this hackathon provides the platform and resources you need to succeed. This time, in Round 2, we'll be covering Southeast Asia.

Your Journey to Demo Day

The challenge will run for 3 months, giving you ample time to develop your project. During this period, we'll host online workshops and provide mentorship to guide you through our education partners Pelita Bangsa Academy and DevWeb3Jogja from Indonesia. We will select the 10 best projects to compete in the final round. The final Demo Day will be held in Bali (hybrid),featuring live project presentations, judging, and networking opportunities.

Our mission is to foster the growth of the blockchain ecosystem in South East Asia. We aim to empower developers and builders to create impactful projects that leverage blockchain technology's potential. Here are the two main themes for this round of the hackathon:
1. Consumer Apps: Web3 for Everyone!
This track is all about making Web3 awesome and super easy for everyday users. Think outside the box and create apps that bring the magic of decentralized tech right to people's fingertips.

  • DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks): Imagine building apps that connect the real world
  • Real-World Assets (RWAs): Imagine turning everyday stuff into digital treasures on the blockchain. What cool apps can you dream up?
  • SocialFi (Social Finance): Ready to mix social media with decentralized finance? Dream up apps where communities can connect, create, and even earn together in new, exciting ways.
  • Web3 Gaming: Let's build the next big game where players truly own their digital worlds!
  • Collectibles: Beyond NFTs! How can we make digital collecting even more exciting and accessible for everyone?
  • And so much more!

2. Localized Decentralized Finance: DeFi, But Local and Loved!
Ready to make finance fun, fair, and totally seamless for your community? It challenges you to build super secure and stable DeFi solutions. We're talking easy transactions for daily life and smooth sailing for money moving across borders. Let's make finance friendly for everyone!

Feeling a little lost on what to build?

No worries! You may find some inspiration through this Idea Bank to spark your imagination! Now, while it's packed with cool suggestions, don't feel like you have to stick to it. If you've got a brilliant idea in your mind, we absolutely want to see it! We are open to any creative dApp Ideas that align with the builders challenge's theme to be submitted for the Lisk Builders Challenge. 

Project Submission Guidelines

You must provide these links during project submissions:

  1. Smart Contract(s) URL deployed on Lisk Sepolia Testnet or Lisk Mainnet and verified on Blockscout Explorer.
  2. Live Project URL
  3. Public Project Repository URL on GitHub
  4. Pitch Deck URL (Google Drive Link shared publicly)

You also must fulfill these project requirements:

  1. Upload Presentation & Demo Video (YouTube Video URL)
  2. Upload Project Screenshot (PNG)
  3. Your dApp should utilize smart contract deployed on either Lisk Mainnet or Lisk Sepolia Testnet

Complete these steps to submit your project

This is an online hackathon on Devfolio

  1. Begin by ensuring you have registered an account on Devfolio.
  2. Proceed to apply for the hackathon. Here's the guidance link.
  3. Whether you are participating individually or as a team, you may create a new team or join an existing one. Please refer to this flow.
  4. Finally, submit your project. Please refer to the submission guidance for further information.

Judging Criteria

To ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation, please see the following evaluation metrics:

  • DApp Use Case Impact towards the Lisk Ecosystem (30pts)
  • Innovation & Uniqueness (20pts)
  • Technical Implementation (20pts)
  • UI/UX & Usability (10pts)
  • Project Documentation & Code Quality (10pts)
  • Pitch & Presentation Quality (10pts)

Commitment to launch the project on Lisk Mainnet will be a huge plus and become a consideration when selecting the winners.
